Overview
Designing internal tooling to modernize email production for Disney Corporate Creative Resources (DCCR).
As a UX Design Intern on the DCCR team, I led a 0-to-1 initiative identifying a workflow gap and taking it from problem definition to a fully functional solution — collaborating with engineers to understand the Email Design System (EDS) and production requirements.
Key contributions include:
Mapped the end-to-end email production workflow and identified a critical gap: digital producers were manually hand-coding HTML emails from a ~48-component design system with no direct connection to Figma source files, creating friction and room for error at every step.
Designed and built the DCCR Email Builder — a browser-based tool that reads a Figma email design via the Figma REST API, auto-detects EDS components, and assembles a production-ready, HTML email.
Closed the design-to-development handoff gap by automating extraction of text, colors, images, and component variants directly from Figma; eliminating manual copy-paste and reducing production time.
